netbeans-7.0beta2-ml-linux.sh

but the font from the installer window is very small.

I try start with other jdk versions but this happend on all java versions in release 6.

./netbeans-7.0beta2-ml-linux.sh --javahome /usr/java/latest/

I use kde from distro.

I have already other versions from neatbeans on this system running and all works (display) like expected.

You mean all installers work as expected? Can you attach screenshots from 7.0beta, then? AFAIK nothing has changed in the installer recently regarding this issue.
Comment 2 oaspublic 2011-03-01 11:20:47 UTC
Is already uploaded.

I have done between older installations only system updates.
I install also openjdk 6/7.

I check with strace the --javahome arg, that this arg is really used by the installer and I saw it.

You uploaded screenshots only from 7.0 Beta *2* installer, but because you said:
> I have already other versions from neatbeans on this system running and all
works (display) like expected
So i wonder what was the latest installer you tried and work? I need this information to look up a modification in the installer that caused this kind of behavior. You marked this a P2 (i assume you wanted to say it's a regression), but when exactly did this work correctly?
Comment 4 oaspublic 2011-03-01 12:12:11 UTC
I have already 6.5.1, 6.8 and 6.9 installed on my system. All installations are works with well sized fonts.

P2 --> bacause, with this font size I can't do an installation because it is (nearly) unpossible to change something.

I'll try now an installation with an older release.
Comment 5 oaspublic 2011-03-01 12:18:02 UTC
I try with 6.9.

Now, also the (in past well sized fonts) installation from this old release show very small fonts.

So it seems, that this small fonts is not caused by some changes on the installation module.

Do you have any idea why this can happen?

The ide itself (6.8/6.9) is running with correct fontsize.
It seems that only the installation process have on my system the fontsize problem.
Comment 6 oaspublic 2011-03-01 12:52:50 UTC
I change the priority to 3.

After play a little and cut and past the values from the path fields(to customize it) the installation works perfect and the IDE use the expected font (size)
Comment 7 Ondrej Vrabec 2011-03-01 13:36:22 UTC
Could you try a different look-and-feel?
./netbeans-7.0beta2-ml-linux.sh -J-Dnbi.look.and.feel=Nimbus
./netbeans-7.0beta2-ml-linux.sh -J-Dnbi.look.and.feel=GTK
./netbeans-7.0beta2-ml-linux.sh -J-Dnbi.look.and.feel=Metal
Any difference?
Comment 8 oaspublic 2011-03-01 13:40:12 UTC
./netbeans-7.0beta2-ml-linux.sh -J-Dnbi.look.and.feel=Nimbus <-- ok
./netbeans-7.0beta2-ml-linux.sh -J-Dnbi.look.and.feel=GTK <-- small fonts
./netbeans-7.0beta2-ml-linux.sh -J-Dnbi.look.and.feel=Metal <-- ok

I see, then it's a laf specific problem, probably the same as bug #143303.
Please next time run with Nimbus rather than GTK

Hi,

the problem seems to be with some versions from the proprietary graphic driver from ATI for linux.

now I update to latest 11.5. I'm sure that the problem exists in version 10. I can't exact confirm, that the fontsize was correct in version 9, but I'm nearly sure. So ATI Driver in version 10 cause some problems with ???.

I can see the small font at the boot process from linux and also xine has problems.

My graphiccard is: ATI Radeon 3100 and I use the Catalyst drivers at download.
